English: Step By Step to Make a Flash Website Like Mine Part 1

Some people ask me how to make the Flash site like mine here. And because I promised them to write the tutorial one day,

So Siblings, These are for you:
1. You must have  Adobe Flash CS3 or CS4 (I’m using CS3).
2. If you have high imagination, you can create your own flash template with the existing tools in the  Adobe flash software.

3. If you are lazy to create the template by yourself,  type these keywords in google: “Free flash templates,” or you can also search in 4share.com: “Free Flash Templates.”  There, you will find lots of free flash web site templates. Since the owner of the Flash templates allow you to edit their products and give you the copyright access, please  do not use them for commercial purposes ….

Some template providers usually require you to register as a member before downloading their content. So, all you have to do is click on the register or sign up before downloading anything. Open your email, click the confirmation link.

In this case I use this site’s template : http://flashvillage.com,  title: osiris and  edit its contents to be full of musics.

4. The files you will download are  the  .fla file types, these file types are editable. Make sure you download the .fla file types, not the .swf file types, ok…

If you are lazy with the complicated  registers etc, you can download my  zip file here: http://laila.masiqbal.com/flashfile.zip After downloading it, simply extract it and double click index2.fla to edit it.

5. Now let’s go to the editing stage.
- Double click your Adobe Flash CS3 application, and then click File, then Open, find the location of index2.fla that you’ve downloaded earlier. You will find images like in this screenshot–>

- Click window, click library

- Double click one of the folders in the library you want to edit. for example:  copyright folder

- Make sure that these icons are opened by clicking on them. Double click on the picture / text you wish to edit.

- If you want to change the existing images with your own pictures on the library, click file, import, import to library , or imported to the stage to put directly on the project.

- Still in the library, find and double click this folder:  edit_section_1. Then search and double click edit_title folder, click the file title_section_1.
Next,  double click the image that appears for editing.  These images will show you the details

- This screenshot will  show you how to edit the contents of  “about me” .

- While This screenshot is  for editing and overwriting the existing images with your own pictures.

- Press Ctrl + enter If you want to see the look of your flash, and in order to obtain the .swf file (file size is smaller than . Fla and hard to edit).

- If you’ve finished all, Click File, click publish. Or click File, click Publish the review, click the HTML to see what your website will display. Click Save.

- Open the folder where the file index2.fla is saved, then you’ll find there index2.swf file. These files will be uploaded to your your website. In addition, you will also find the  index2.html file.

- Right click index2.html file, then click PSPad, Click  PSPad.  After that, Follow the steps in this screenshot

- Upload Files index2.swf and index2.html to your website server.  Do not upload index2.fla!!!

- Oops! Almost forget!!  Don’t forget to upload these files to your website server as well: AC_RunActiveContent.js, and  ArcticOverAll.swf . All these files you can find in my  flashfile.zip.
Without these, your flash sites will run imperfectly.

Important!!! – If you want your flash movie appear in the main page of your site, rename the index2.html to index.html (Do not rename with other’s names).

1st part finished. I’ve kept my promise to write this tutorial. If you’re  still confused, just contact me.

  1. I’ve been looking around on the net hoping to get ideas on how to get our blog site coded, your current design and style are amazing. Did you code it by yourself or did you recruit a programmer to do it on your behalf?
